The Museum of Nikola Tesla was founded
in 1952 as an independent museum, based on the legacy
of Sava Kosanovich, Tesla's cousin. It was opened for
public in 1955. The aim of the museum was to process,
preserve, protect and present the objects from the Nikola
Tesla legacy. The collection has 1120 objects selected
into nine thematic collections: electrtical engineering,
mechanical engineering, chemical technology, technical
devices collection, Tesla's personal belongings made
of textile and leather, medals, decorations, artistic
objects. Tesla's library is also in the Museum and includes
800 books and 300 magazine titles.
The exhibition is permanent and occupies 250m2.
The building in Krunska Street 51 where
the Museum is situated is called Genciceva Kuca and
is protected as a monument of culture designed by Architect
