The
Yugoslav Cinematheque which was established in 1949,
founded the Yugoslav Cinematheque Museum in 1952 in
order to present filmed material it possessed. The Museum
is one of the richest of its kind in Europe. The Museum
Hall of about 120 sqare meters of exhibition area is
meant for the accompanying exhibitions in this field.
Besides the authentic material of the history of cinematography
in this country and the world, the Museum has some very
rare old cameras, among which there is the Edison's
private projector from 1895 with films and slides. The
cinema theatre shows significant works of its rich Archives
all over the year.
