She is bound to the mankind and all its makings by permanent ties. The subject of
this year's European Heritage Days, Water – Sense of Duration, has a double role: to promote the material and non-material cultural heritage which originates from water or is related to it, and to make an appeal to the mankind to stop treating in such irresponsible manner This is the third participation of the Republic of Serbia in European Heritage Days manifestation. The interest of municipalities is almost doubled in comparison with the last year. It is estimated that about 50.000 visitors in over 50 cities will take part in a rich program created for the manifestation which will be opened by the National Opening Ceremony on September 11th, 2004, and will last until the end of the month. Over 300 activities will be organized for the visitors, 150 cultural monuments and localities will be visited. The National Opening Ceremony will be held in Kikinda, where the appropriate programme is prepared, and many local and foreign guests are expected.
The Ministry of Culture, as a coordinator and general sponsor of the European Heritage Days, will provide for the free promotion material for all participants of this year's action. Due to the great interest and joining of many new participants to the action, the Ministry of Culture has organized a two-day educational seminar for the local coordinators in order to harmonize the criteria and direct the preparation of the European Heritage Days manifestation. The seminar was held in Golubac and was estimated as very successful. |
